Product Construction & Materials

+
RTA stands for "Ready To Assemble", meaning the cabinets are manufactured in prefabricated parts and packaged in unassembled "flat-packs" with hardware, providing customers the opportunity to receive high quality materials at more affordable prices.
+
Blackwood Cabinets manufactures in Vietnam.
+
Yes, all Blackwood Cabinets products are 100% in compliance with CARB Phase 1 & CARB Phase 2 defined guidelines of composite wood products.
+
Blackwood will offer a broad range of assembly and modification options to accommodate your project needs. Please refer to the website for specific timing and location of assembly and modification options near you.
+
To assemble RTA cabinets you will need a rubber mallet, a philips head screwdriver, a drill with a philips head bit, a box cutter, and wood glue.
+
We do not use particle board. Our cabinet boxes are constructed from furniture-grade CARB2 compliant plywood. All stained finished doors, drawer fronts, and frames are constructed from 3/4″ solid Birch or Oak hardwood. Our painted styles feature an all-HDF door.
+
Blackwood offers painted and stained finishes.
+

All of our framed cabinets come with finished side panels to match the door and drawer fronts. However, the back of the cabinets will need to have a panel applied if exposed when creating an island.

+
Soft-close doors and drawers come standard on all cabinet collections.
+
Assembly instructions are included in each box, as well as available online here.
+
Blackwood does not offer installation services; we work with businesses that can provide those services.
+
Blackwood uses 6-way adjustable hinges and glides that can be adjusted with either a Philips head or by a rotating wheel within the mechanism. See the Care Guide for more detailed instructions.
+
Clean damp cloths can be used on a regular basis to wipe your cabinets down, and only use mild cleaners sprayed on to a cloth, not on to the cabinet directly for a deeper clean.
